Dr. Deb Bossio recently completed Defeat Autism Now (DAN) training in biomedical approaches to autism as sponsored by the Autism Research Institute. The Autism Research Institute is dedicated to educating parents and clinicians regarding research, appropriate testing, and safe and effective (non- psychotropic)interventions for autism. Since 1995, ARI has convened recurring meetings for carefully selected physicians, researchers, and scientists committed to finding effective treatments for autism. Dr. Bossio is excited to have completed this training and to incorporate the biomedical approach into her practice to best serve patients with autism spectrum disorder.

As a DAN doctor, Dr. Bossio will utilize effective strategies for recognizing and addressing the medical conditions associated with autism. Fundamental to this approach is an understanding of some of the most common medical issues affecting children on the autism spectrum. These include: food allergies/ sensitivities, gastrointestinal disorders, nutritional deficiencies, compromised detoxification abilities, inflammation, and heavy metal toxicity. After determining if any of these complications are impacting a patient, Dr. Bossio can address them with naturopathic medicine.
